Brass, Eco Brass, Silicon Red Brass, DZR Brass, Low Leaded Brass
Brass is essentially copper alloyed with zinc. In proportions which can be varied to achieve different colours and mechanical, electrical, and chemical properties, but copper typically has the larger proportion.
It is strong but easy to form, stamp or draw which make it a common choice for a broad spectrum of applications.
By varying the amount of zinc content it is possible to achieve a variety of characteristics including different levels of corrosion resistance, ductility and suitability for machining.
Brass is similar to bronze, another copper alloy that uses tin instead of zinc. Both bronze and brass may include small proportions of a range of other elements including arsenic (As), lead (Pb), phosphorus (P), aluminium (Al), manganese (Mn), and silicon (Si).
